Jennifer Siebel Newsom - A Role Model We Stand Behind.
Hillberg & Berk values one principle above all others: empowering women. This is evidenced by the role models that are the faces of our collections. One such woman: the ever-lovely Jennifer Siebel Newsom.
Jennifer Siebel Newsom, filmmaker, speaker, former actress, and advocate for women, directed and produced the 2011 Sundance documentary MissRepresentation. This powerful piece explores the ever-relevant misrepresentation of women by the mainstream media - the daily reality society has become accustomed and blinded to.
"The film challenges the media’s limited and often disparaging portrayals of women and girls, which make it difficult for women to achieve leadership positions and for the average woman to feel powerful herself."

A Role Model We Stand Behind
In 2012 Hillberg & Berk had the honour of building a scholarship and cause with Siebel Newsom, and she became the face of our 2012 Autumn/Winter collection: Le Cirque de Vie.
Translated to "The Circus of Life", the title could not have been more appropriate.
"Modern day life is akin to a circus wherein media dumbfound and daze us with dizzying ideals of what women should or shouldn’t be at an ever-increasing rate."
— 2012 Le Cirque de Vie Collection
This fearless, empowered, and strong woman truly stands for equal rights.
Hillberg & Berk is proud to support MissRepresentation.org and feature its founder, Jennifer Siebel Newsom. We have been so deeply honoured to contribute to this important work. It will better our world, and we invite you to take part. Cultural norms must shift in order for women to truly experience equal opportunity.
